General Characteristics of the Bank


Anum Rural Bank Limited, like other rural/community banks has a number of characteristics             which differentiate it from other banks and savings and loans companies.

  • It is a unit bank and locally based
  • It is a private enterprise with shareholders drawn mainly from its catchment area, with relatively small equity capital
  • It provides services mainly to farmers, fishermen, small agro-based businesses, and traders.
  • It is limited to loan and deposit operations as well as securities business.
  • Although women account for over 50% of the bank’s clients, there is no gender-related bank policy towards that target group.



The bank currently has seven (7) agencies:

  • Avetile/Peki
  • Afienya
  • Dzemeni In addition, it has two at Boso, Peki Dzake.
